Many foods remind me of my childhood, but my absolute favourite is pickled onions which my grandma used to make.
She used to make small cuts on baby onions, sprinkle them with spices, and let them hang for 24 hours to drain. When they were ready, she put them in a large jar and added water and salt. After 3 days, they were ready to eat.
Whenever I eat this I instantly transport it to my childhood. Wow! My mouth become watery now.
